I have been collecting found shopping lists for several years, planning to use them for an unknown purpose. I started illustrating them for #the100dayproject annually since 2017.
I find these discarded lists on the ground and in shopping baskets almost every time I go to the grocery store. After finding many, I began looking for them, especially when I traveled to a new country and might find one in a new language.
Some lists are funny, many have misspellings or are illegible, a few have interesting things on the back side or margins. I have always been fascinated by these lists. Who wrote the list, what are they cooking, why did they toss it on the ground or leave it behind?
Below are a few of the shopping lists I have illustrated. Check my instagram to see #100daysofshoppinglists and read more about the stories behind each particular list.
I also very much enjoy illustrating packing so this ties in very well with the project.
